Artistic style refers to the visual style of your work, including your choice of color, textures, and other design elements. Photoshop makes it easy to add color, textures, effects, and special effects to photographs to make them look more like a painting.

However, that doesn’t mean Photoshop Elements doesn’t have many other great tools that can help you make images that look really sharp and professional.

In this article, we’ll present some of the tools from the newest version of Photoshop Elements – and tell you how to use them in your everyday workflow.

Elements RGB swatches

RGB swatches lets you pick all of the colors in an image rather than select individual colors one by one. The advantage of this method is that you don’t have to pick the color manually because the program automatically picks each color for you.

However, there is a caveat. If you want to use individual colors to paint, you’ll have to use the HSL or HSV color presets in the Color palette to get all the colors.

Also, if you’re making a web page or other standard HTML document, you’ll find that Elements RGB swatches won’t let you get into the hex codes of the colors.

If you’re using the Paint bucket tool, you can easily select the colors of an image by pressing Ctrl+A to select the entire image or Ctrl+click to select all of the colors in an image.

A Photoshop Smart Brush

A Photoshop Smart Brush uses Photoshop’s advanced Smart Filter features to enhance your images. And the advantage of the Smart Brush is that you can change the way an image looks using the “Brush Type” filter to let you create layer styles with no hassle. You’ll also be able to reuse the styles on other images.

In addition, you can move the brush across an image and edit it in real-time. And the stylized brush strokes allow you to create textured effects. The Smart Brush is different from the Live Paint Brush because it’s more like an art brush than a paintbrush.

If you’ve ever wanted to create a composite image, you can use the Compositing panel to merge all the layers of an image into a new one. I have written the following code:

Fast inverse square root in Java?

I was wondering how hard it is to find a fast way to get the square root of a number in Java. I know you can't just do Math.sqrt(number) because that will probably be an int. But I couldn't find anything that would do this on the web, and I couldn't find anything that would work.
Does anyone know of a fast way to calculate the square root of a number in Java?

You're going to need to find the square root of all the values in a range of one million plus or minus a few hundred thousand using any algorithm that finds square roots fast, i.e. one that returns a double or a float. To reduce the number of operations for this, you can use a prime number. That is, if you want to get a square root of 100 million, find its prime factorization and square root the primes in the exponents of the prime factors.
You'll likely have to write a special-purpose routine to find the prime factorization of a number. There are code for this out there.
UPDATE:
Here's a very simple way to do this:

The values of primes[i] range from max/2 to max. Keep in mind that is will handle long/very long values of target.
