How to Create a Smart Object in Photoshop Elements

Open a new document in Photoshop Elements.

Click the Smart Object icon in the tool bar.

A new window should open like this:

In the Smart Object window, press the + button to add a new Smart Object. Name the Smart Object and save it as a PNG.

That’s all! Create a new Smart Object, and the following effect will happen:

Every time you change the information in the Smart Object window, the image will get a black border with a white background.

How to Lock a Smart Object in Photoshop Elements

To make the changes you make to Smart Objects persistent, you need to lock the canvas so the changes don’t get erased.

Open a new document in Photoshop Elements.

Click the Smart Object icon in the tool bar.

The following window should open:

There are two ways to lock a Smart Object.

1. First way: Press the Lock button on the Smart Object window and then press the OK button.

2. Second way: Press the Lock button on the document and then press the OK button.

That’s all! You’ve successfully locked the canvas and made your changes permanent.

New York City Mayor Bloomberg sent an email to the top 1,200 employees at his company Tuesday evening. The email, obtained by Bloomberg, is part of a strategy to get the company's biggest earners to take a pay cut.

"Last week, we agreed to reevaluate the Mayor's salary and other compensation plans for 2012," the email reads. "Given the personal sacrifices made by every man and woman in this organization, we are further making the decision to adjust certain compensation plans. I have asked Bob Lord and other senior managers to review all compensation programs, including the Mayor's."

Lord, the Chairman and CEO of Bloomberg LP, owns 28% of the company, Bloomberg reported last month. Bloomberg LP had revenues of $5.6 billion in 2011.

"I will be personally reviewing the compensation plans for 2012 and reducing the Mayor's salary and CEO incentive as appropriate. I have asked Don [former Mayor Rudolph Giuliani] and other senior leaders to do the same," the email continued.

In the email, Lord also said the company "will reduce the salary and bonus of the Mayor's Chief Operating Officer for 2012." Lord added that the company will also make cuts to the CEO incentive plan for 2012.

The email was emailed at 8:30 pm, at which point city employees were already supposed to have put in their last day on the job.



A spokesman for Bloomberg LP told Business Insider Tuesday evening the statement is "not a direct reference to the office, but reflects the Mayor's desire to make sure that people across the company, including this particular office, understand how seriously they are taking this review and that we are doing what we can to mitigate the effects."



"[The company's] most valuable asset is its people and the Mayor's office is no exception, from the Chairman and CEO to the professional staff," the spokesman continued. "He is committed to ensuring that Bloomberg LP's people feel like the company is committed to them, and this is a strong signal of his commitment to doing so."

“It was basically the last time I spoke with him before that," a Bloomberg LP spokesman told Business Insider. "He thanked the people for their service and wish them all the best.”

The CEO and Chairman of Bloomberg LP Bob Lord said a meeting would be held on Thursday to discuss “the possible re-evaluation of certain compensation plans”.

Mama-We needed to get money for Tyler's stuff. So we headed to Safeway, my favorite store. I'm a girly and love shopping. Vicki never has been very girly, but she loves junk food and enjoys shopping. I told her to pick out something, I would stop in the bakery and pick out some goodies. We spent about $40 on this trip. The things I wanted (after a few hiccups) were done in a day, so I didn't take pictures.

Some boy must have given Vicki this funny book. She LOVES it. We always go back to it every few weeks to remind her of Tyler.

Katelyn was rolling around and I asked her what color her dress was. She said "blue." It's a plain white tee with blue trim. I asked her why she said "Because we went to Pottawattamie Park today. I rode a tractor there. The tractor was blue." She was talking about a toddler strapped in a sunshirt that was blue.
